CITY BREAK IN BUDAPEST SERIE

Active day - move on!

Good morning! Welcome to Budapest! We all started the day early as we meet at the Budapest Coach Terminal at 8 a.m. First we take you to the legendary Gellért Hill. From the hill top you can enjoy one of the most stunning vistas of Budapest. Walk up the upper level and whole city will be sprawling in front of you.

Surrounded by the Danube river, famous for its ancient trees and its beautiful gardens, Margaret Island is a historical place in the middle of the Hungarian capital, full of beautiful spots that make it one of the most popular and most pleasant sightseeing destinations in the city. Picnics and social gatherings are frequent among locals and travelers alike. It is your place to have a fun drive on an emission-free vehicle, so we take a timeless classic  and explore the island on a quardicycle gokart called bringóhintó. Great fun!

We are heading  Pest side of the inspiring River Danube - just remember the evergreen melody of The Blue Danube, composed by Johann Strauss! We will pop in the Great Market Hall for a quick snack or lunch.  This central market hall was built in 1897 and is the most beautiful and largest of all Budapest market halls. If you love fresh goods, people watching, shopping, photo opportunities or just sightseeing in amazing places, we trust you will enjoy visiting our beloved market.

Do what locals do and have some Hungarian snacks like lángos or home style  meals at the upper floor food stands and eateries! You can also support the local economy and buy various souvenirs, bags, clothes, pans and pots here. But please, shop before you drop!

In the afternoon we drive along the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Andrássy Avenue and arrive at our next destination, the Hero square. Here we have the chance to learn about the Hungarian history interpreted by our local guide. In the city park we will visit the Boating Lake area and enjoy the recreational facilities. Paddle boat or rowing boat? It is your choice!

Thanks to an abundance of natural hot springs, Hungary can boast around 450 public spas and bathhouses. A prominent bathing culture has existed since Roman times. It is supposedly the best cure also for a hangover – or “cat’s wail” as the Hungarian term macskajaj translates. Known as the "City of Baths", Budapest is the spa centre of Europe, as the city sits on a patchwork of hot springs that spout mineral-rich healing waters into numerous thermal baths, many of which date to the 16th century.

So what could be better than spend some relaxing time in the most visited and much praised Széchenyi Baths? It is a must! Relaxing, fun, and, at night, romantic.

At the end of the day we transfer to the Coach Terminal at around 8.30 p.m. We hope you had a fantastic active day with us!

Good-bye till next time! Budapest is waiting for you!
